Cooking Oatmeal Basics
1 part oats to 2 parts water
2 minutes in the microwave or 8-10 on the stove
dress and enjoy!
Single serving: 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water (or other liquid)
Stove(preferred): ~8-10 minutes, or until desired consistency. Bring water to boil, add oats, reduce heat (simmer) and cover. Stir occasionally to prevent oats from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
Microwave: ~2 minutes, may be longer or shorter depending on the power rating of your microwave. Watch out for expanding oatmeal! Using a wide-brim bowl may prevent microwave messes.
Top off with some brown sugar, nuts, and berries, or whatever your heart desires!
